Health and safety regulations require that in order to provide first aid to employees who are injured or become ill at work employers must ensure they have suitably qualified people, equipment and facilities.
This 6 hour course introduces learners to regulations relating to first aid in the work place and successful completion provides them with sufficient emergency first aid training to enable them to act as a first aider in the work. It is very practical and run in a relaxed and friendly environment.
On successful completion of this 3-4 hour course learners will have proved that they:
• Understand hazards and precautions
• Are aware of current relevant legislation
• Can correctly assess the situation and then act quickly, safely and effectively
• Understand the risks involved in handling loads
• Can carry out an assessment of any lifting task
• Understand how to minimise the risk to health of incorrect lifting techniques
• Can assess an individual’s capacity to lift
• Can assess the use of mechanical aids
We regularly run courses in Oxfordshire (including Saturdays) or can come to any site nationally if more convenient provided there are adequate facilities and learners. Call 01993 837803 for more information
